There are just times when you need a Bloody Mary. This isn't a blog post outlining how to become an alcoholic - not at all. Sometimes having a Bloody Mary is such a great idea that you diminish the quality of your life by not having one during one of the following situations.
You've probably found yourself in a few of these situations before, and if you haven't, it's time we introduced you. Here are four scenarios where a Bloody Mary isn't just a want; it's a need:
After buying your first jug of Sportsman's Redneck Juice
You finally stumbled onto the Midwest's most drinkable Bloody Mary mix, and you've either picked up a jug or three from the store in Somerset, WI, or the mailman just arrived and dropped it off at your door.
You bring Redneck Juice into the kitchen and set it down next to the liquor cabinet when it hits you: You should probably see what all the fuss is about. Redneck Juice is delicious no matter how many times you drink it, but the first time you use it in your Bloody Mary is a special day.
It's 5:00 o'clock somewhere.
Sunday afternoon during the game.
Whether you get pumped for the Lambeau Leap or chant "Skol!" after touchdowns, Redneck Juice is a perfect beverage for the big game. Ditch the room temperature six-pack and whip up your favorite version of the Bloody Mary with Redneck Juice as the main ingredient.
This scenario works even better if you went a little too hard at the bar over the weekend. You wake up with a bit of a hangover and wonder what you can do to make your headache go away. Whip up your favorite Bloody Mary, throw a few strips of bacon in on the top, and serve it next to a hearty (and maybe greasy) breakfast, and you'll be good as new in no time.
Pairs great with basketball and baseball, too.
Saturday brunch.
This may sound cliche, but there are few better places to have a Bloody Mary than Saturday brunch. You've just worked your butt off for the last week, and it's time to enjoy the weekend out on the lake, up at the cabin, on the open road, or out on the trail.
But first - brunch.
Brunch is Breakfast and Lunch's weird little sibling. It seems like it gets to do whatever it wants, and everyone loves it, even though they're not 100 percent sure about it. What we do know, however, is that the time from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on weekends is a great time to hang out with family and friends, enjoy a beverage after a long week, and then hit the great outdoors for a great weekend.
Don't get too thirsty, though - you still need to drive.
Any day where you have off work in the middle of the week.
Maybe it's a holiday that lands on a Wednesday. Perhaps you're just sick of being in the office all the time and want to enjoy a day to yourself. Maybe you're playing hooky. Whatever it is, rounding up Redneck Juice and your favorite Bloody Mary recipe for a mini-vacation in the middle of the week is rarely a bad idea.
